Options

The rocking toy can be made in several variations. One constrain is that the shape must be kept the same for all options. Variations can be added by changing the moulding method.

Constrains

Constrains to consider: slightly conical shape so that the part can be removed from the matrix, resistance structure, area of joining. The yellow lines represent the axes where the pieces join. The grey area represents where the forces are applied.

First option

The rocking chair is made out of two different parts. It has one color option. The two parts are joined on 2 axes. This is the cheapest option of all four.

Second option

The rocking chair is made out of four different parts. The two-point casting offer different colors options. When mixing the colors, slight defects can appear. Another piece is applied to hide the merging of the colors. The two parts are joined on 2 axes.

Third option

The rocking chair is made out of six different parts. It has three color options. The colors are applied with a higher precision.
The six parts are joined on 3 axes thus making the structure stronger .

Fourth option

The rocking chair is made out of six different parts. It has three color options. The colors are applied with a higher precision.
Aesthetic extensions offer a bigger area to make the pieces join even stronger. The six parts are joined on 3 axes
